Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This policy explains how SportHoot (sporthoot.com) handles personal data. SportHoot is operated by RW Services, Strada Putnei 15, 550410 Sibiu, Romania, which is the data controller. Contact: contact@sporthoot.com.
SportHoot has no user accounts and no payments. You can read every page without telling us who you are.
1. What we collect
- Technical data when you visit. Our hosting provider receives the information any website receives: IP address, browser, device, the page requested and the time. It is used to deliver the Site, keep it secure and diagnose faults.
- Analytics (only with your consent where consent is required). If analytics is enabled, Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) and, optionally, Microsoft Clarity record how pages are used: pages viewed, approximate location from the IP address, device type, and interactions such as clicks and scrolling. We use this to understand which pages are useful and to improve the Site.
- Advertising (only with your consent where consent is required). If advertising is enabled, Google AdSense may use cookies or similar identifiers to show and measure ads, and, where you allow it, to personalise them.
- Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, and use them only to reply.
We do not knowingly collect data from children, and we do not sell personal data.
2. Cookies and consent
The Site stores your cookie choice in your browser. Analytics and advertising cookies are only set according to that choice:
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, nothing that requires consent runs until you agree, through Google's certified consent message.
- Elsewhere, you can reject cookies in the Site's banner, and the choice is kept for later visits.
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or by clearing your browser's storage for this Site.
3. Legal bases
- Delivering and securing the Site: our legitimate interest in running a working, safe website.
- Analytics and advertising cookies: your consent where the law requires it, otherwise our legitimate interest in measuring and funding the Site.
- Replying to your messages: our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps you ask us to take.
4. Who processes data for us
- Netlify (hosting and delivery of the Site).
- Google (Tag Manager, Analytics, AdSense and the consent message), when enabled.
- Microsoft (Clarity), when enabled.
- Our email provider, for messages you send us.
Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where they do, transfers rely on safeguards recognised under the GDPR, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
5. How long we keep data
Hosting logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months. Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your message, and then deleted. Your cookie choice stays in your browser until you change or clear it.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting what happened before. Write to contact@sporthoot.com.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In Romania this is the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP), www.dataprotection.ro.
7. Changes
We may update this policy, for example when we add a service. The date at the top shows the latest version.
